in an April evening
half-formed

the sea elusive –
willowy,
& stygiandark

below the blue
umbilicus of sky

what can we know?

the leaves‘ tender
fevers
mimicking our own

the thicket of warblers
thorn & thrush

all burning soft
as an ember

beyond the horizon
to some distant,
imperceptible heart

the darkness gleaming
moon , collarbone,
swinging

I am summoned home -Smakka–bagms
